Sergeant Nicholas Angel graduated with honours and soon gained the respect and popularity of the people on the streets of London. He was awarded the Medal for Bravery, won nine awards in his last year on duty alone and made more arrests than any other police officer. He's simply the best of the lot and it's starting to bother his colleagues and superiors. Nicholas is transferred to the small village of Sandford. He is very disillusioned with his new situation, yet he begins his duties as soon as he arrives. Not only does his attitude earn him the contempt of the local police, but he is also considered a fool. The only one who takes a liking to Nicholas is the good-natured officer Danny. After Angel's brief stay, a carousel of fatal accidents begins in the zero-crime town. The only one who sees it as something far greater than a series of unfortunate coincidences is Sergeant Angel.
