Batman has to face the Joker.
It’s been a year since Batman (Christian Bale) battled the Scarecrow in Batman Begins and crime in Gotham City is manageable with the help of Batman, Lieutenant James Gordon (Gary Oldman ), and the new and hopeful district attorney, Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart). The three work well together despite Batman and Harvey’s mutual love for Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal), and organized crime in Gotham City is at bay. But that all changes with the appearance of The Joker (Heath Ledger), a malicious, conniving monster with no value for morality or human life. After stealing the mob’s money in a masterful bank robbery, The Joker uses the money for multiple attacks on the people of Gotham City. Batman and Harvey Dent are both determined to take The Joker out and restore order in Gotham City, but who will be the one to do it and whose intentions are the most just?
