In the movie, Donna is an independent hotelier in the Greek Islands and is preparing for her daughter's wedding with the help two friends. Meanwhile, Sophie, Donna's daughter, has a plan. She secretly invites three men from her mother's past in the hopes of meeting her real father, who she doesn't know, all in the hopes of having him escort her down the aisle on her wedding day. All of which turns Donna's world upside down.
