Tom Cruise as William Cage is a military officer who, through a twist of fate, gets stuck in a time loop, reliving the same day over and over again. Every time he dies, he wakes up back at the beginning of the day and has to repeat everything all over again.

To break the cycle, he seeks the help of Emily Blunt's character, Rita Vrataski, a skilled soldier who has also experienced the time loop before. Together, they set out to find a way to defeat the alien race that has taken over the planet.
