Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope is technically the first movie of the multi billion dollar Star Wars franchise, but the fourth in the series. This movie was the one that first started the franchise and is the timeless classic of good overcoming evil. The movie itself starts off with scrawling text along the screen to explain the setting, and then opens up to a small spaceship flying through space and being ominously chased by a larger, more evil looking spaceship. The Imperial forces under the orders from the evil Darth Vader, seize the ship and kill everyone on board, but keep the rebellion leader Princess Leia alive. From there, she managed to send out a distress signal for Obi-Wan Kenobi through the droid R2-D2, and it sets off an adventure to rescue the princess, and stop the Empire from creating a doomsday weapon that they can use to threaten the galaxy.
