Thelma and Louise go on a weekend away together, stopping off at a pub on the way. There they meet Harlan, who strikes up a conversation with Thelma. When they go out, Harlan tries to rape Thelma. Thelma, who hates rapists, accidentally shoots Harlan. She knows full well that they have no evidence of self-defense and that she faces at best life in prison, at worst the electric chair. So she decides to disappear in Mexico, beginning a dangerous but unforgettable ride...
