Paterson (Adam Driver) is a bus driver in the eponymous town of Paterson. Every day for Paterson is seemingly the same as the one before: he drives the route of his line, watches the city pass by in front of his windshield, and listens to snippets of conversations. He writes poems in a notebook, walks his dog, stops at a bar for just one beer each time, and comes home to his wife Laura (Golshifteh Farahani). Laura's life is the opposite - everything in it is constantly changing and every day brings new dreams and ideas. Paterson and Laura love and support each other: he helps her implement her latest plans, she admires his poetic talent. The film is a story of the victories and defeats of everyday life and the beauty that lies in even the smallest details.
