This movie has been inspired by the French novel "Les Liaisons dangereuses" of Pierre Laclos. When the Marquise of Merteuil, beautiful and wealthy widow, learns that her former lover, Gercourt is to be married to a fifteen years old girl, she is enraged and hatches a plot to avenge. She was told by her cousin that the condition for the marriage was that the young Cécile would be raised in a convent to guarantee her chastity. She will ask another of her lover Valmont to seduce the young bride to be before her wedding, planning to let Gercout know he wasn't the first. But he refuses. From this point on Merteuil and Valmont will develop a complex intrigue of plots and affairs, mixing sexual desires, love and traps that will bring, the two sentimental masterminds against each other.
