Banatova

Michou is an Algerian boy growing up in France at a time when majority society does not accept Muslims. Because their mother died, his father left him and his brother in an orphanage, and took care of business back in Algeria. The boy is adopted by the eldery woman Gisele, because this is her last chance to raise a child. She is ashamed of Michou's appearance, color his hair and tries to impersonate him as a native Frenchman. She realised not to tell the truth to his husband, because she is convinced that he would never accept a Muslim into their family.
