Serge Alexandres Stavisky emigrated from the Ukraine to France, where he began to earn a living as a small-time con artist. However, he gradually rose higher and higher until he began to influence French politics and, through them, the economy. But it all came to a head in 1934 with the so-called Stavinsky affair, when all the machinations came to light. Stavinsky, always rich and elegant, surrounded by beautiful women, falls to the bottom.
