Movie or TV Series Plot
A film drama based on the famous novel by Albert Moravia. Italy at the end of World War II. A young widow Cesira fears for the life and health of her twelve-year-old daughter Rosetta. She decides to leave bombed Rome and hide in her home village in the mountains. However, she soon becomes convinced that the war, with all its horrors, is here too. The Italian title of the film (La ciocara) does not correspond to the English translation, but means a woman from the peculiar mountain region of Ciociaria, east of Rome, where the story is set
